Do you have women's clothes to donate?
Beauty products, hygiene, feminine accessories or chocolates that you would agree to part with?
The association Un Petit Bagage d'Amour opens its arms to you!
She has just created a branch in Gentilly (Val-de-Marne) to help impoverished mothers in Ile-de-France.
Until now, the association - whose premises are in the crypt of the Saint-Sulpice church in Paris (6th century) - was dedicated to babies.
Each month, it provides nearly 150 maternity bags to extremely precarious pregnant women (homeless, refugees, without income, etc.) so that they can welcome their infants with dignity: first-age clothes, milk, diapers, bottles, etc.
Notice to chocolate makers
On the occasion of International Women's Day, Un Petit Bagage d'Amour Maman's is organizing a collection until Saturday to make women's packages.
She stores all donations in Gentilly.
The volunteers will offer the packages on Monday March 8 to 1,300 women in Paris, in Val-de-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Hauts-de-Seine and Val-d'Oise thanks to a network of several associations partners in Ile-de-France: Banlieues Santé, Umanah, Solidarity Caravans, Homeless Femininity ...
Each package offered on March 8 will contain two new clothes, beauty products, an anti-Covid kit, a piece of jewelry or a scarf… LP / Marine Legrand
“Our packages will contain two new clothes, hygiene and cosmetic products, an anti-Covid kit and an accessory (scarf or costume jewelry), announces Farida, one of the volunteers managing the antenna.
This is made possible thanks to generous donors such as Etam, Maison 123, Octoly… ”
She throws a bottle into the sea, turning her gaze to the chocolatiers: “We would like to add some chocolates.
Because we have noticed that when the mother opens her package, the child is there and looking.
However, there are only things for his mother.
If there are chocolates, she can give him some.
It creates a little moment of sharing.
These are details, but our help also goes through these very simple things.
"
"These mothers abandon themselves to privilege their child"
After the special operation of March 8, the association will provide continuous support to these mothers who live in great precariousness.
“They live in social hotels, emergency accommodation centers, in substandard housing…, says Farida.
The needs are immense.
We realized that these mothers abandon themselves to privilege their child above all.
When they receive a little money, they will buy something for their baby, never beauty cream or hair color for example.
"
The branch is therefore interested in different types of donations for its long-term activities: hygienic protection, cosmetic products, coloring, second-hand clothes in very good condition, new shoes, etc.
