Ten people including Li Zhiying, the founder of Next Media Group, his two sons, four senior members of One Media Group, and Zhou Ting, a former member of Zhongzhi, were arrested in August last year on suspicion of violating the National Security Law and conspiring to defraud. After further investigation, the National Security Department of the police arrested a 61-year-old man in Central District today (March 2) on suspicion of "fraud". He is currently being detained for investigation. So far, 11 people have been arrested in the case.

It is understood that the arrested man is Ding Jiayu, a former executive director, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Next Media, and a member of the remuneration committee.

The police once accused the media group of fraudulently obtaining the right to use the factory at a low price. It is reported that Ding was responsible for renting the factory when he was a director in the past.

Checking the information, Ding Jiayu resigned from the above position on January 1, 2016.

According to the announcement of Next Media that year, after 18 years, Ding Jiayu Service Group decided to retire all administrative positions in order to pursue personal interests, and confirmed that there is no disagreement with the board.

Next Media later appointed Zhou Daquan as executive director, chief financial officer and authorized representative of the company.

The National Security Department of the police stated on August 10 last year that it had investigated a group that used propaganda and actively participated in requesting foreign or international organizations to impose sanctions on Hong Kong, and discovered that 2 men and 1 woman were operating related organizations in Hong Kong.
