The investigating judges in charge of the investigations ordered on February 26 a trial before an assize court specially composed for Hamou Benlatreche, following the requisitions of the national anti-terrorism prosecution (Pnat).

Asked by AFP, his lawyer had not reacted Tuesday in the middle of the afternoon.

On August 9, 2017, this Algerian, then aged 36, injured six soldiers of Operation Sentinel, three of them seriously, by charging at them behind the wheel of his BMW in front of their local in Levallois-Perret.

The vehicle was intercepted a few hours later on the highway to Calais (Pas-de-Calais), following a manhunt.

Hamou Benlatreche, who was at the wheel, had been seriously wounded by bullets when he refused to comply.

According to the public prosecutor, "

the operating mode chosen (...), the use of a ram vehicle to mow down pedestrians, was recommended in 2010 in the magazine Inspire of Al Qaida

" and responded to a call from 2014 "

inviting them to kill Westerners by all means

”, instructions reiterated in particular during the demand for the attacks of November 13, 2015. The analysis of the phone of the accused allowed investigators to see that he had access“

to messages of this kind of incentive

”.
