The launchers that launched the rockets to the Ein al-Assad base in Iraq this morning (Wednesday) were activated remotely using a cellular network (4G).

This is what a senior security official in Iraq tells Israel Today.

The launch systems apparently have precision devices that are also in the hands of Hezbollah in Lebanon.

According to all reports from the field, at least ten rockets were fired at the air force base where American, Iraqi and even British forces are located.

The attack took place at 07:20 local time, Coalition spokesman Colonel Wayne Maruto said.

A senior Iraqi official told Reuters that about 13 rockets had been fired from a distance of about eight kilometers toward the Ein al-Assad base. The same launchers were activated, so according to the source who spoke with Israel Today, they were fired remotely - in order to locate the launchers.

"Coalition forces are in Iraq to fight ISIS, following an invitation from the Iraqi government," tweeted the British ambassador to Baghdad, Stephen Hickey.

He said, "These terrorist attacks are undermining the fight against ISIS and the stability of Iraq."

This attack, in which a local contractor working for the U.S. military was killed, apparently, from a heart attack, is revenge for the U.S. Air Force's attack on pro-Iranian targets in Buchmal, and it is not inconceivable that the Iraqi contractor's death will lead to further American retaliation.
