This Thursday appears La Tête haute (Éditions Hugo Sport), the biography of the former Toulouse manager, written with Jean-Louis Laffitte and Grégory Letort.

Guy Novès has confided in a preview at Le Figaro for a long time.

The way Toulouse Stadium said goodbye to you “saddened” you.

You even deplore "fake reports" ...

When you spend 40 years in the same place… I felt like I represented something important to my players.

It is even certain.

It was extremely strong with players of all generations.

But the Stade Toulousain celebrated my departure on a double day, in a half-full stadium.

And, the icing on the cake, I am offered this frame in the middle of the field and, when I come back, I am told "Guy, you have to give it back to us because it is not your present."

Yours is ordered but not yet arrived… ”.

So they hadn't anticipated anything, my departure was just anecdotal.

A few weeks later, when they called me to tell me it had arrived, I told them to take advantage of it.

I never went to look for it… It may be a misplaced pride, but it seemed to me that I deserved a little better.

I have always been attentive to the departures of my players.

We organized a big party, we offered them an armchair in their name.

It was much warmer than what I experienced.

Afterwards, I don't blame anyone.

It taught me to live.
