Tartous-Sana
I receive 12 students from the basic education stage, the first stage, at Baniyas National Hospital, after they consumed moisture absorbent pellets that one of the students was in possession of.
The director of the hospital, Dr. Imad Bashour, said in a statement to SANA that he treated 12 students to the hospital after accidentally ingesting a "moisture-absorbent" substance, and that all necessary health measures had been taken for them before they were discharged from the hospital after their health condition had completely stabilized.
He pointed out that the moisture-absorbent material that the pupils accidentally ingested was non-toxic, but it led to a dehydration of their mucus.
In turn, the Director of Education in Tartous, Ali Shahoud, explained in a similar statement that a number of students in a first class in a school in the city of Baniyas ate moisture-absorbent pellets that one of them was in possession of, believing it to be a foodstuff.
