6 bodies found in a boat in Nicaragua

The Nicaraguan National Police reported this Tuesday through a press release about the discovery of 6 bodies in the municipality of Bluefields, South Caribbean Autonomous Region of the country, RACS, more than 833 kilometers southeast of the capital Managua.

According to the statement, on Monday, a citizen through emergency line 118 informed the institution of the discovery of a white and gray boat with human remains.

According to the report, the boat was located 1 mile south of Cayo Las Palomas, south of Bluefields, where members of the technical team, criminalistics experts in coordination with the Army naval force, traveled.

Authorities say they have found "six male bodies in an advanced state of decomposition."

The report adds that the “Medical Examiner determined that the bodies examined did not show signs of violence.

The cause of death was dehydration, heat stroke and systemic failure.

According to the forensic report, "the probable time of death (was) more than a month ago."

The police statement also indicates that among the clothes of one of the deceased, a passport of a 31-year-old citizen was found, issued in the Republic of Guinea, in Africa.

The citizen has an immigration registration to enter Nicaragua, the police note concludes.
