A Mr. Gabriel Lahoud introduced himself to him in person in a hotel in Brussels to give him further information about the investment.

In truth, however, he belonged to an international gang of fraudsters.

Bitcoin fraud: There is no trace of the perpetrators

Just like a man who pretended to be Peter Hilti and made several phone calls with the Mühldorfer.

For the loan, he was told that he had to prove ten percent of the sum in the form of the digital currency Bitcoins as a deposit.

With this digital credit, the Mühldorfer was sent to Rome last August.

There he should clarify further modalities with a certain Sebastian Mertens.

However, he broke off the meeting and put the Mühldorfer off for a later date.


The next meeting took place a few days later in Santa Margherita Ligure, about 40 kilometers east of Genoa.

There the businessman met a man named Alexander, who stole the USB data carrier with the digital Bitcoin credit through a clever deception maneuver.

Since then, there has been no trace of the perpetrators.

The Mühldorfer has been defrauded by a mid six-figure amount.

The impostor, who called himself Gabriel Lahoud, looked Arabic, was around 35 years old.

He has a normal figure, long black hair, spoke English and pretended to be from Lebanon.

The man who called himself Alexander was about 45 years old, southern European, noticeably corpulent and had a full beard and longer gray hair at the time.

He spoke German with an Italian touch.

The Kripo Mühldorf asks under the number 0 86 31/3 67 30 for information about the fraudsters.
