In September, two classes could disappear at Beauvoir college in Créteil, and one at Chérioux college in Vitry. Teachers and parents

Few, but intentionally very noisy.

If less than twenty people took part, this Wednesday afternoon, in the rally organized in front of the offices of the academic inspectorate in Créteil, they were able to voice their anger and their concern, while class cuts are being made. announced at Simone-de-Beauvoir College.

A picket line held by teachers has been established in front of this Créteil establishment since Monday, the first day of school.

"The strike is renewable at least until our audience at the rectorate, that is to say next Tuesday", explains Guillaume, professor of visual arts and representative of SNES FSU 94, in the middle of a concert of percussion instruments, pots and pans. stoves.

They want one more class, they lose two

Teachers, parents of pupils, pupils and other supports were gathered in front of the Department of Departmental Services of National Education (DSDEN) of Val-de-Marne, not only to ask for the hiring of two supervisors, in order to be able to ensure the respect for barrier gestures.

They wanted to mark their opposition to the closure of two classes (one from 4th and one from 3rd), announced for the start of the September school year.

At the same time, they keep asking for an additional 6th grade, in order to be able to guarantee better learning conditions for future newcomers.

"With 25 students per class, teachers still manage to do a great job, but with these closures the numbers will increase, with the consequences that one can imagine", points Julie, a worried mother.

“With 28 to 29 students per class, it will be difficult to help, for example, students with a very poor reading level,” says Annabel Rizza, class coordinator Ulis (local units for inclusive education).

A “breakage policy” in Chérioux?

On the side of the Adolphe-Chérioux college in Vitry-sur-Seine, we also remain silent in front of certain announcements.

Especially in a school year dedicated to upgrading students who have suffered the full brunt of the aftermath of confinement.

Here too, a mobilization is underway.

Accustomed to protest movements, the staff of this college began a strike on Monday, while the abolition of a 6 th class is looming.

"The DSDEN 94 continues its breakage policy in our college classified as city policy, classified REP until 2014 and provided with students with special needs (an allophone section and a cognitive handicap section)", underline the staff of this establishment. in a press release.

Anger boils elsewhere

At the time of publication, the academic inspectorate has not responded to our request for clarification on the future school map in Val-de-Marne.

Gabriel Holard-Sauvy, departmental co-secretary of SNES-FSU 94, also professor of mathematics at the college Chérioux, is also awaiting information.

He is not the only one.

"Several dozen establishments have requested hearings from the DSDEN and many gatherings were organized before the holidays," he points out.

Does this mean that other colleagues will in turn opt for a strike?

It is certain that this Wednesday's protest concert will not be the last.
