Emmanuel Macron had announced it at the end of the European Council last week: "We must prepare, organize the reopening" of museums, restaurants, festivals, bars, etc.
A project launched without delay.
As of this Wednesday afternoon, a meeting was held on the health protocols intended to loosen the restrictions, when the hospital system will no longer be saturated.
"It is a moment that can be anticipated, even if we do not know when it will intervene," sums up an advisor.
The challenge: to find measures that make it possible to reduce risks on a lasting basis.
"The day we tell restaurateurs for example that we open, we must be sure that we do not close their establishments a few weeks later," slips an advisor.
Show that a way out is looming
While Jean Castex and Olivier Véran were physically present at the Elysee Palace around the president, ten ministers participated in the exchanges by videoconference.
Among these, Bruno Le Maire, Roselyne Bachelot, Cédric O, Frédérique Vidal, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne… Each ministry was asked to present proposals: establishment of QR codes in front of bars, establishment of a "health pass" compiling test results, stadium gauges, concert experiments, new telephone tracking application, etc.
These suggestions were to be the subject of consultation with the professional branches.
"The president asked each minister to designate referents to centralize in their sector the reflections on the post-Covid", explains a member of the cabinet.
By making this meeting public, the stake was also psychological for Emmanuel Macron.
One of his relatives sums up: “We want people to mobilize to face the next few weeks which will be very hard.
But for that, we have to show people that they are right to mobilize, that there is a way out and that we are preparing for it.
