Edwin Tumiri, one of the six survivors of the LaMia flight that crashed in Colombia in November 2016 and in which 71 people died, including a large part of the players of the Chapecoense soccer team, had another brush with death this Tuesday when the bus in which he was traveling crashed on the Cochabamba-Santa Cruz highway, in Bolivia.

According to Red Uno, a Bolivian media affiliate of CNN, Tumiri was one of the 45 passengers on the bus that fell 150 meters down a ravine at kilometer 72 of the interdepartmental road, in the area known as El Cañadón on the Cochabamba-Santa Cruz highway. .

"I grabbed the seat, leaned back," Tumiri told Red Uno when describing the accident from the clinic where he is recovering.

"Again, I can't believe it," is the phrase Tumiri said he thought of when he emerged from Tuesday's accident.

"I feel very blessed," he added.

He was asked about how he felt this time about LaMia's accident.

"What I always do, let's say, even at that time, is that I entrust myself to God and nothing is going to happen to me, nothing is going to happen to me," he said.

Tumiri is recovering at the Arébalo clinic in Cochabamba, according to the Red Uno report.
