In the second and third readings, the Knesset approved the law on the alternative grant for disability benefits

The Knesset plenum this evening (Wednesday) approved in second and third reading the government bill that will grant an additional alternative grant to recipients of disability benefits, as compensation for the delay in raising benefits that was supposed to take effect in January 2020.
The grant will be paid to eligible Approved in October for the year 2020. Its amount will range from NIS 500-150 per month, according to the established criteria.
In addition, respirators with disabilities will receive NIS 5,341 each month, and about 64,000 disabled children who do not meet the established criteria will also receive a relative grant of NIS 500, an initiative of the chairman of the Labor and Welfare Committee, MK Haim Katz (Likud). Approved in October by the Minister of Finance.
The grant will be paid, like its predecessor, in two installments.
The first beat will be given during March and the second until June.
According to the explanatory memorandum to the bill, the total amount of indemnity that the state will grant to the National Insurance Institute in respect of the alternative grants granted from January 2020 will be NIS 1.569 billion.
