The Kremlin denounced Wednesday as "
absolutely unacceptable
" the new sanctions adopted by the European Union and the United States against senior Russian officials for the poisoning and prosecution against the opponent Alexei Navalny.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the sanctions "
seriously damage the already deplorable relations
" between Russia and the West. He also considered "
scandalous
" the accusations against the Russian security services (FSB), which Washington claimed was the source of the poisoning of Alexei Navalny.
