The news hit: too little vaccine - there will be no new first vaccinations in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district in the next two weeks.

The district administrator is bitterly disappointed.

  • In the next 14 days there will be no corona first vaccinations in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.

  • District Administrator Josef Niedermaier fears a loss of confidence.

  • In the two vaccination centers 600 people could be vaccinated daily - if enough vaccine were available.

  • By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular Wolfratshausen-Geretsried newsletter.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- No first vaccinations will be possible in the district for the next 14 days.

The reason: There is not enough vaccine available.

This news spread on Monday by the district office in Bad Tölz causes annoyance.

Vaccine shortage: 14 days no corona first vaccinations in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - the district administrator's phone no longer stands still

Politicians promise a “vaccination turbo”, writes an uncomprehending Geretsrieder, “and then there is such a press release”.

Even in the authority itself, revealed its boss Josef Niedermaier on Tuesday when asked, "the phone is no longer silent".

And the district administrator, who can clearly hear his anger and disappointment about the vaccination campaign, which has been sluggish and punctured up to now, shows understanding for the resentment of the citizens.

“Many are waiting for the vaccination.

In this way we gamble away any trust. ”Turning to high-level politics, he adds:“ If I have uncertainties, I mustn't fluff myself up like that. ”

Corona vaccination in Bavaria: no vaccinations in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen for the time being - district administrator angry

In this regard, little has improved after the change in leadership in the Bavarian Ministry of Health - on January 8, Klaus Holetschek replaced Melanie Huml.

“You hear more from him and he's approachable,” says Niedermaier of Holetschek, but hardly anything has changed in terms of handling.

"He sent us a paper on February 11th with the clear message: 'Now step on the gas, 24/7 if necessary.'

In other words: It should be vaccinated around the clock. ”Holetschek answered yes to Christian Bernreiter, Deggendorfer District Administrator and head of the Bavarian District Association, whether enough vaccine was available.

However, his gut feeling was different back then, remembers Niedermaier.

“I don't want to be a know-it-all”, said the district administrator, Holetschek's job is difficult, “I don't want to do it”.

But it serves the seriousness of politics, "not to blow on the plaster".

Corona vaccination: "At the behest of politicians, we inoculated everything that we had in stock, it was said: 'More supplies are coming'"

In the Tölzer district office everything was done that was requested from above.

“We are ready, we could vaccinate 600 people per day in our two centers.” The goal is up to 1000 vaccinations.

"At the behest of the politicians, we inoculated everything we had in stock, because it was said: 'A supply is coming'."

Now the district is being punished for its hard work, "because we can just cover the high number of pending second vaccinations with the delivery quantities allocated to us."

"About 1000 cans" will be ready for this over the next few days.

During the upcoming waiting period, however, the 57-year-old does not want to remain idle, "increase the capacities in the vaccination centers again".

Vaccine shortage: Teachers moved up on the prioritization list - they too cannot be vaccinated for the time being

The district administrator emphasizes that his house has no influence on the allocation of vaccination doses.

That, adds Florian Streidl from the disaster control management group in the district office - he sits next to Niedermaier during the phone call - "runs exclusively through the government of Upper Bavaria".

This is where “the elites” are sitting, who distribute the vaccines to the districts according to the proportion of the population.

“First the teachers were made hot to vaccinate.

Now they want - and have to wait two weeks. "

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier

Teachers and child carers, who have now moved up on the prioritization list, must also be patient in addition to those over 80.

That is another thing, says Niedermaier, “first the teachers were made hot to vaccinate.

Now they want - and have to wait two weeks. "

Or maybe even longer?

He will not allow himself to be carried away into speculation any more, says the 57-year-old, "In my opinion, raising hopes is highly dishonest".

His appeal: "Even if it is difficult for all of us, including me, we have to be patient for a few more weeks."

Corona in Bavaria: District administrator wants to avoid vaccination comparisons with Great Britain

Niedermaier has "no explanation" why in a country like ours that is known for its good organization and is often admired.

However, the district administrator does not allow a comparison with Great Britain, where around a third of the 66 million inhabitants are now vaccinated.

“The British are abusing their people,” he says, adding that they are almost exclusively first-time vaccinations.

“Very few have already received the second one there.” But only with this is there adequate protection against the virus.

Despite the corona lockdown, a golf course owner in Wolfratshausen recently opened his facility.

There are now consequences for this.

And what you have to consider with first aid in view of the rampant corona virus, Katrin Jungmeier from the BRK district association Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen explains.
