A female dog and her owner helped each other.
First the single Brian Myers adopted the shepherd Sadie, and after a few weeks she saved his life.
Oakland - A female dog has now thanked her for her adoption in a very special way: Shepherd Sadie saved her new owner's life after he had also saved her life to a certain extent.
Brian Myers decided a few months ago to adopt a dog, the loneliness gnawed at the single American.
And so he paid a visit to the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland.
There he met the German shepherd Sadie, with whom he immediately got along well.
"Sadie and I had a deep bond right away," he told
CBS2.
Shepherd Sadie: Don't trust men

At that point, Myers didn't know that he had taken his Guardian Angel home with him.
Because only two weeks later he woke up one night to go to the bathroom and collapsed after a few steps.
Myers had suffered a stroke and apart from his new dog there was no one to help him.
“I lay helpless on the floor and couldn't move or get help.
Then came Sadie.
I clung to her collar with my still functioning right hand and she pulled me back to the bed. ”He could just muster enough energy to take the cell phone off his bedside table and dial 911.
Both Brian and Sadie were very lucky that they found each other.
Sadie didn't want anyone in the shelter.
As

, the shepherd found it difficult to trust men, so three previous shelters rejected her.
But Brian Myers wanted to give her a chance.
He wanted to help her regain trust in people.
In retrospect, Myers was surprised to find help from his dog on the night of the stroke.
"As far as I know, she was never trained to help people," he said in an interview with
cbsnews.com.
He is now all the happier that he has effectively rescued his rescuer from the animal shelter.
