TSV Gilching-Argelsried is undoubtedly one of the largest clubs in the Starnberg district.

But as everywhere, the coronavirus is taking its toll on passionate athletes.

Of the 3380 members before the crisis, the association currently still has 2820, with a downward trend.

Gilching - “At the moment there are a lot of conversations with members who do not understand why they should pay an annual fee, even though there are currently no activities.

Many then cancel their annual contract, ”regrets TSV President Peter Kramer.

It is very regrettable.

According to Kramer, the association has been an important element within the municipality for almost 100 years.

With its meanwhile 17 departments for men and women of all ages, children from two years of age, adolescents and young adults, it offers a wide range.

“We must not forget that we are a solidarity community that is kept alive through membership fees, among other things.

This is also the case in other clubs. ”On average, the club members pay 80 euros in annual membership.

Children, young people and seniors pay less.

“This contribution is only the membership fee for the main club, for which no consideration is offered.

We are also not allowed to forego the contributions, because this is generally prescribed in the statutes and otherwise we would lose our subsidies from the Free State and the District Office.

The grants are based exclusively on the membership fees, ”emphasizes Kramer.

However, if you want to be active yourself, you can choose one of the 17 divisions.

There are separate contributions per category, which amount to between 12 euros for the volleyball department and 300 euros for cross-athletics.

Children's sports, hiking, chess, archery, gymnastics and unicycle are also offered.

In total, TSV Gilching-Argelsried currently has 1400 children between the ages of two and 17.

Florian Bayer, the full-time managing director of TSV, is generally concerned about the finances.

“There is a lack of income because football and handball games have not been allowed to take place for months and we have no entry fees.

But without games, sponsors for perimeter advertising will also disappear.

That's why we're really happy that some companies are holding up to us and actively supporting us. ”With a cautious estimate, the cash register is currently down by 20,000 euros.

With annual sales of around 1.5 million euros, this is a sum “that we cannot neglect”.

Bayer's appeal: “Please hold on and support us where possible.

If it goes further downhill, we have to shut down at some point and then an important part of social life is lost. "
