Your commander called "collection boxes" for the return into being, now there is criticism.

Also to Kramp-Karrenbauer.

Berlin - The criticism of Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer's role in the KSK affair is intensifying.

Members of the Bundeswehr special unit had been hoarding ammunition for years before commander Markus Kreitmayr gave the soldiers the opportunity to return ammunition without further penalties last year.

A legally questionable step that the Ministry of Defense is currently examining.

The special forces command had "fundamentally not complied with the regulations for proper ammunition management in recent years," according to a confidential report by the Bundeswehr leadership, from which the AFP news agency quoted.

The opposition is now insisting on a statement from the defense minister.

But Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer sees herself exposed to further serious allegations.

KSK affair: Critics demand "clean up the system from top to bottom"

The FDP attacks the former CDU leader sharply.

Obviously, the top in the ministry "deliberately overlooked the bad developments at the KSK," complains the FDP defense expert Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann to the AFP.

The opposition politician is convinced that the Defense Ministry knew about the Bundeswehr's internal report earlier than she admits.

According to the paper, the whereabouts of at least 13,000 missing rounds of ammunition and 62 kilograms of explosives in the KSK could no longer be clarified.

The systematic violations would have led "in the detection of ammunition to sometimes considerable inventory differences and irregularities", "which can no longer be fully investigated", the authors sum up.

"The report 'Aktion Fund Munition' has definitely reached the minister - and not first through the press, as she likes to claim," accuses Strack-Zimmermann of the defense minister.

The FDP immediately called for a special meeting of the defense committee.

"The system urgently needs to be changed and cleaned up from top to bottom," continues defense expert Strack-Zimmermann.

KSK: Elite unit of the Bundeswehr hit the headlines due to right-wing extremist incidents

In the past few years the KSK has been shaken by right-wing extremist incidents.

In May of last year, investigators found weapons, ammunition and explosives in the garden of a Bundeswehr soldier from the Special Forces Command (KSK) from Saxony.

As the

reports, right-wing extremist devotional items were also found: the investigators found postcards and stickers with Nazi motifs, an SS songbook, relevant magazines and several Thor Steinar t-shirts, which are assigned to the right-wing extremist scene .

Defense Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer had therefore already dissolved a KSK division last year.

In the summer she wants to make a fundamental decision about the future of the elite troops.
