In the Damascus Free Zone, the Iranian Center for Innovation and Technology was inaugurated today, to be a factor in strengthening the scientific and economic relations between the two countries and a mediator between their commercial companies operating in the fields of biotechnology, information technology, "nanotechnology", communications and technical industries, and laying the necessary infrastructure for this and employing it in supporting the two countries' economies.

The Iranian President's Associate for Scientific and Technical Affairs, Dr. Surna Stari, expressed in a statement to the media after the opening, his happiness for the opening of the center in the capital Damascus, which would strengthen the bridges of communication between research centers and companies in both countries, pointing to the importance of introducing university students, students and medical personnel in Syria to Iranian technical products.

Stari affirmed his country's full readiness to cooperate with Syria in the field of technology and to provide the necessary support for that, explaining that the visit of the Iranian delegation to Syria was very positive and constructive, and the meetings with its officials strengthen relations between the two countries more and more.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim confirmed that the center contributes to strengthening scientific and research cooperation relations between the two countries as it displays all modern Iranian products and technologies in the industrial, medical and economic fields and thus will have a role in supporting Syrian universities and educational hospitals with modern equipment in a way that contributes to developing the educational process and improving Medical services provided to citizens.

Engineer Hadi Daghami, director of the Iranian Center for Advanced Technology, "the modernizing body of the Iranian Center for Innovation and Technology", considered that the center would be a mediator between Iranian knowledge-based companies, especially in the field of "nanotechnology" and Syrian companies, indicating that the center is "a home for new Iranian inventions and technologies."

Assistant Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Rania Ahmed said in a statement to SANA that the center is presenting the capabilities and capabilities available to the Iranian side in the field of science and technology, and thus those concerned and interested will be informed about these technologies and exhibits and establish future partnerships and science-based investment projects that will advance the economic processes based on knowledge. Stressing that the center is attracting stakeholders to see these products to start an investment or commercial cooperation.

The President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Yasar Abdin, drew attention to the importance of Iranian products in the field of nanotechnology, which are estimated at 500 products and are among the most important products on the global level, noting the importance of their access to Syrian hospitals and their role in achieving medical and health progress.

On the sidelines of the opening of the center, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to enable and encourage cooperation in the field of technology and innovation in line with the internal laws and legislations of the two countries, and to make the necessary arrangements with local organizations and institutions in the public and private sectors to facilitate the exchange of technology and innovation and the development of mutual communication channels between innovation institutions such as incubators and technical gardens. And others.

According to the memorandum, the Iranian side will allocate a credit line of up to 10 million dollars to support the import of high-tech and hospital equipment to the Syrian side, in addition to securing the access of Syrian scientists to the Iranian laboratory network and facilitating cooperation in the field of joint projects between technology-based companies from both parties and the creation of a medical training center. My specialty is simulated in areas including spinal cord injections, ophthalmic operations, endoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, bringing university researchers from Iran to Syria, and accepting students for special scholarships.

The opening of the Iranian Innovation and Technology Center also included the signing of several commercial agreements between Iranian and Syrian companies.
