The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops encourages people to choose Pfizer or Moderna vaccines over Johnson & Johnson's if possible.
According to a statement released by the conference, the treatment used for the production of vaccines used cell lines derived from aborted fetuses during the research and development stages.
For its part, Johnson & Johnson told CNN that there is no fetal tissue in its vaccine.
