Planning your vacation becomes a shiver.
The question is becoming more and more important: will I be vaccinated until my plane takes off?
Freising - Travel again at last!
Two weeks on the beach - or strolling through exotic cities!
So far, unfortunately, one can only dream of it, because even the borders with our neighboring countries are tight - and the incidence value is rising again.
Nevertheless, “the travel market is slowly moving”, reports Sebastian Jung.
The head of the ADAC travel agency in Freising has "some bookings" again.
But now, in addition to all the uncertainties, another criterion has emerged that makes vacation planning for this year even more difficult: vaccinations as a “ticket” to the promised vacation destination.
More and more countries want to give preference to vaccinated holidaymakers this season - instead of PCR tests and quarantine.
But when will I be vaccinated?
Did that work with the prick if, for example, as a 59-year-old I want to get on the plane in August 2021?
It is difficult to answer that.
Quarantine can drag things out
Sebastian Jung, however, has the answer to the question of whether you are left with the travel expenses: “Unfortunately, yes.
You can only cancel free of charge if the tour operator himself cancels the trip.
However, if the vaccination did not go as planned and I therefore cannot enter, nothing will be reimbursed ”.
Unless you come to your holiday destination thanks to PCR tests and quarantine.
However, this can lead to - for example Austria - that you have to take several weeks off for two weeks of vacation in order to be able to celebrate the quarantine before and afterwards.
So you currently have to go into a seven-day quarantine after arriving in Greece, despite a negative PCR test.
Some brave people are already booking
Nevertheless, there are some brave ones who are already booking sun destinations - Crete, the Canary Islands or the Caribbean.
As a travel date, Easter hardly plays a role this year, Whitsun more, as Jung reports.
Jung cannot confirm that the corona situation there is a criterion when selecting the destinations.
However, the vacation should also cost a little more this year, because according to Jung, many would have saved their vacation pay last year: "Then the trip will not be longer, but a bit more exclusive." However, they are still a long way from pre-Corona sales , reports the head of the ADAC travel agency.
Sebastian Jung advises his regular customers to first consider their own country as a travel destination.
"However, convincing those who are really sun-hungry to vacation in Germany is not that easy."
