The municipality of Wörth receives a municipal climate protection concept.

Wörth - The parliamentary group of the Greens in the Wörth municipal council has made a move to consistently implement climate protection in all municipal areas.

The proposal by Monika Wenger, Petra Schletter and Johannes Sachteleben was passed unanimously.

However, the initiative of the Greens initially caused irritation in the SPD because the long-standing working group (AK) Energy already exists, which is now headed by local councilor Thomas Altmann (SPD / non-party).

Deputy Mayor Ulla Dieckmann (SPD) emphasized: “An incredible amount has been achieved here” and pleaded for “collaborative” action.

Green Councilor Wenger saw no contradiction in this.

It is not about competition with the existing working group.

But: "Climate protection is more than just energy."

Wenger spoke of a “common thread” that should apply to all municipal projects by means of a concept.

The Green Councilor explained: “In our community there has been an energy working group for ten years, which has done very good preparatory work with regard to potential savings in heating private houses and the construction of PV systems on communal roofs.

There is also already a data collection on CO2 emissions. ”Unfortunately, the goal of promoting the expansion of renewable energy and climate-neutral heat supply“ has stalled a bit ”.

Wenger continues: "With our proposal we want to bring more movement into the discussion."

The AK Energie should be involved as a partner.

For this reason, contact has been made with some of the members beforehand.

Council colleague and AK head Altmann signaled his readiness: “The door is open.

Overall, the application is to be approved. "

Based on his experience, Altmann pointed out that one could “reach limits on a voluntary basis”.

That is why it makes sense to possibly get professional help - a thought that Mayor Thomas Gneißl (ÜPWG) took up.

That is quite conceivable in the actual implementation.

The municipal council agreed on the following procedure: First, the Greens parliamentary group and AK Energie will work on the concept, then the topic will be dealt with in the “Building, Environment, Energy and Climate Protection” committee and ultimately in the municipal council.

Main topics are already listed in the Green application: energetic renovation of existing buildings, promotion of private renovation by energy consultants, maximum utilization of municipal roof areas for the use of solar energy, climate-neutral design of future building areas, optimization of street lighting in the entire municipality, additional e-charging stations, bicycle-friendly design the dirt roads in the direction of Erding and Markt Schwaben, the reduction of sealed areas in town through greening and the increase in frequency on bus line 445. Further suggestions from the local council should also be taken up.

Green Councilor Schletter emphasized that the topic of the climate should be “broadly focused”.

It is about "not forgetting the little things that are extremely important".

Schletter appealed for a long-term sustainable way of working.

“We have to think about the next generation.” Green Council Sachteleben wanted to focus more on climate protection.

The realization should take place “in dialogue” with “common steps”.
