A Palestinian welcomes the decision of the International Criminal Court to officially start an investigation into the crimes of the occupation

The Palestine Liberation Organization stressed the importance of the declaration issued today by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories.

Wafa news agency quoted a member of the organization's executive committee, Ahmed Saeed Al-Tamimi, as saying, "This decision is a victory for humanity and respect for justice and international laws and covenants before it is a victory for the just Palestinian cause."

Al-Tamimi described the court’s decision as a “serious step” to prosecute the occupation and its leaders for their ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.

In turn, the Palestinian National Liberation Movement "Fatah" considered that the decision of the International Tribunal confirms the independence of the Palestinian decision that took this step despite the threats, political and financial pressures and the siege that was practiced on it and is still being practiced by the occupation entity.
