"All my life I have been involved in art" - this is how our interview with Andrea Besser, who tells us about her development as an artist, begins.

"I first met Clay in my 20s. I always knew he would be an integral part of me, but I finally fell in love with him when my eldest daughter, Rumi, was born. I would order her toys and dolls, everything intrigued me. At some point I realized I was much more excited about her than opening. The packages that arrived. "

During maternity leave, Andrea realized that there was no going back: "I realized I had to realize this love and that I was not returning to my job as a payroll clerk and bookkeeper. I spent all my time figuring out how to make my dream of 'playing with dolls' come true. Of course, That I could not do it without my husband Roi, who flowed with my madness and was very supportive of me. "

One woman's business

The business is run by Andrea from her home in Beer Yaakov.

Beyond the creative work, Andrea is a "one man show" and does everything in the business: photographing the works, managing the social media, creating collaborations with other artists, building a website that is coming up these days, customer management and more.

"It's hard for me to let go," she says.

"I know exactly how I want things to look and run. I also love my clients so much that I can not let anyone else run in front of them, so I do all the roles myself during the day."

Among the popular products that Andrea creates can be found a line of flower pots sculpted in animal figures such as Bambi, tiger and rabbit, pictures with three-dimensional figures, and balloons for hanging on the wall or ceiling.

"The line of balloons was born in my second pregnancy, I really swelled and felt like a balloon. I had to convey that feeling to my products, and so they also had a lot of creatures with gum balloons in their mouths or creatures holding small balloons. Today thanks to my daughters and their world I get a lot of inspiration "It could be their outfit, a little piece of play like a doll's crown or a number figure I read to them."

"One Piece" - one special work

Andrea's true love is for the unique doll line she creates: "I like working on dolls the most. My dolls are usually 'one piece', full of details and each one has a special story that is woven as it is made and comes to life in the coloring stage."

The work on the dolls is very intense and includes clay sculpture, burning, painting and again burning, to determine the colors.

Sometimes a third fire is required for works with gold-painted elements.

Along with the meticulous work on each piece, in each of Andrea's works, there is also a lot of humor: "You can find humor in each of my works. I create them with love, from the girl in me, and their goal is to make the viewers' faces happy and smile."

During the not-so-simple Corona period, Andrea was happy to find that her audience stayed by her side: "Luckily, my audience remains very loyal and accommodating, which is something I really appreciate. No doubt it is a very difficult and challenging time, no fairs or home sales, and ultimately my works need an audience To continue to exist. "

Andrea, 37, married to Roi and mother to Rumi and Amit, went a long way until she reached the estate and her vocation as an artist.

She dreamed of studying animation, majoring in photography, fashion design and interior design.

At a complex point in time she sought an island of stability and worked as a payroll accountant and bookkeeper, right up to the turning point.

"In the end, the love of art won, and when my eldest daughter was born I realized I had a role, I must teach my child to believe in herself, face fears, dare, dream dreams and make them come true. My agenda is that you can be anything you want. Once you persevere "Take yourself seriously, work hard and think outside the box - in the end you will succeed no matter what your passion."

Today Andrea realizes that the path she took was not in vain and is part of the journey she had to go on the path to fulfillment: "

I fell for the parts of the ability to create and for my works to adorn homes and move hearts. At the end of the day, I wish myself to continue to get excited about the work and for all my work to reach her home."
