A reported underground garage fire in the Schlüterhallen caused a large-scale deployment of the fire brigade and police.
In the end, car freaks let the tires of their cars smoke.
Freising
- The emergency call "underground car park fire" reached the integrated control center on Tuesday shortly after 8 p.m.
A caller had seen clouds of smoke rise in the area of the Schlüterhallen underground car park.
Thereupon the defense of the Freising main fire station was alerted.
A total of 32 firefighters moved out with nine vehicles.
The police also sent emergency services to the halls.
There the smoke had cleared again in the meantime, reported fire department press spokesman Florian Wöhrl.
But there was still a burning smell in the air.
Then the underground car park, a grocery store and the roof were searched - there was no source of fire.
Tire smoke was the trigger
The solution to the riddle was presented to the helpers behind the Schlüterhallen: There were tire tracks and lots of freshly burned rubber debris on the road.
The location of the tracks indicated a "burnout": In this case, the tires of a stationary car are made to spin by applying strong gas until the tires start to smoke.
The police have now started the investigation.
The mission could be ended after about an hour.
