Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq has been the target of a missile attack.
At least ten bullets hit the military base.
The missile attack is being investigated by the Iraqi security forces, said a US military spokesman.
The base houses Iraqi armed forces as well as troops of the US-led coalition in the fight against the terrorist militia "Islamic State" (IS).
The US did not provide any information about possible victims.
Iraqi security forces spoke of "no significant casualties."
The Norwegian army also announced that there were no injuries among the 30 or so Norwegian soldiers stationed there.
All of them are safe, a spokeswoman said, according to the Norwegian news agency NTB.
Missile attacks have recently increased again
Dozens of rocket and bombing attacks have been carried out on embassies, troops and facilities of western countries in Iraq since autumn 2019.
Rocket attacks have picked up again over the past three weeks, following relative calm since a ceasefire in October.
Recently, there had also been an increasing number of attacks on bases of the coalition for the fight against IS.
In mid-February, a civilian military worker in the service of the US Army died in an attack on an air force base in northern Iraq.
Rockets were also fired at the US embassy in Baghdad.
A civilian contractor belonging to the international military coalition was killed in a missile attack on the northern Iraqi city of Erbil in February.
Militias with close ties to Iran are suspected.
