It was a flagship reform promised by Emmanuel Macron: by reimbursing 100% of certain glasses, dental prostheses and hearing, the French would no longer have to give up essential care for financial reasons.
But after two years of gradual deployment, the reform is still far from keeping all of its promises.

Among dentists, at the end of 2020,
“53% of prosthetic care was in the basket with no out-of-pocket costs for patients, and 21% in the basket at controlled prices.
The objective of the reform has been achieved, ”said
Franck von Lennep, Director of Social Security, on Thursday, during a meeting with the association of social information journalists (Ajis).
But, marked by the pandemic, the year 2020 is not completely representative, due to the postponement of care during the first confinement.
The results are much less convincing in optics, where only 14% of lenses and between 12% and 13% of frames sold in 2020 were sold at negotiated prices.
