Electric fire in a girl denied: "The children probably played with a lighter when they were alone"

The Abu Sabit family, who lost three of their children in the disaster, estimated that they were inside the burning playroom a few minutes before their mother managed to get them out of there: "This is a tragedy that will accompany the family."

The fire brigade has not yet determined what caused the fire, but has ruled out unsafe use of the heater.

The fire that broke out in the house of a girl and claimed the lives of children was not caused by an electrical failure or unsafe use of a heater - says tonight (Thursday) Fire and Rescue Commissioner Dedi Simchi, who arrived at the scene of the disaster.

Family members say that playing with the lighter may have led to the fire, and suffocating the brothers Abrar, Khaled and Lila Abu-Sabit, aged 3 and 4, from inhaling smoke.

"This is a great, heavy disaster, a tragedy that will accompany the family," said Mansour Abu-Sabit, the father of the family's uncle.

"The kids were in one room playing, apparently playing with fire while their mom was working outside the house, and the dad was at work."

He said, "Within a few seconds a fire broke out. The boy apparently played with the lighter and the sofa lit up and the mother tried to get them out."

He estimated that the children had been inside the room for a few minutes before being taken out of it.

However, Simchi refrained from determining the cause of the fire, but said that "from findings found at the scene of the incident, we already have directions for the cause of the fire, and we are waiting for the results of the laboratory."
