It could be a small attraction in the Auerbergemeinde: A citizen of Bernbeur wants to realize a tree house project on the premises of the local Kneipp facility.
He already explained his ideas to the local council this week.
Many questions are still open.
Bernbeuren
- As Mayor Karl Schleich reports, something similar could arise on Auerbergstrasse as east of Bauzen on the border to Poland.
The “Kulturinsel Einsiedel” association runs a tree house hotel there, which leaves nothing to be desired.
There are more than a dozen smaller and larger houses hanging in the trees that can accommodate up to eight people.
With its own shower, toilet and kitchenette.
Operator is still covered
The project on the Auerberg would of course be a lot smaller.
The future operator does not want to give any details on request.
And he doesn't want to read his name in the newspaper either until it is clear whether the project has a chance at all.
City hall chief has sympathy for the project
Even Mayor Karl Schleich does not know that yet: “Whether and how this can be implemented is open,” explains the town hall chief, who, however, has some sympathy for the project.
According to him, the planned one to three tree houses will offer around 30 square meters of living space, be energetically self-sufficient and be rented out as holiday or camping apartments.
“This is certainly innovative and corresponds to the zeitgeist,” says Schleich.
Land belongs to the municipality
It is unclear when the first guests could spend the night over the Kneipp facility.
The time frame and the financing are still open, the mayor curbs any euphoria.
"The current presentation in the local council is the first step to check whether it can be implemented," he explains.
The site of the Kneipp facility belongs to the municipality, which building law requirements have to be clarified.
No harm would be done to trees
In principle, however, the idea was welcomed in the local council, reports Schleich.
There are suitable large trees on the site.
You would not be harmed by the tree house or houses.
If you want to get an impression of similar tree houses, you don't have to drive to the border with Poland.
There are also comparable projects in Upper Bavaria and Allgäu.
For example in Betzigau near Kempten.
The project there was even funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forests and the European Agricultural Fund.
