In Nuremberg, the corona incidence has been below 100 for several days in a row. The curfew remains in force - another rule could also tip.

  • The incidence value in Nuremberg is below the 100 mark for the eighth day in a row (update from March 4, 10:30 a.m.).

  • The curfew, which was lifted on Wednesday, will therefore continue to be ineffective (update from March 4, 10:30 a.m.).

  • The city promises improvement in the allocation of vaccination appointments over the phone (update from March 3, 5:23 p.m.).

Update from March 4, 10.30 a.m.:

The 7-day incidence on Thursday is unchanged from the previous day at 90.1 - this is based on figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

Nuremberg * is thus below the limit of 100 for the eighth day in a row. The night curfew from 10pm to 5am, which was lifted yesterday, is therefore still overridden.

In the Franconian metropolis, 23,924 (+118) people have been proven to be infected with the corona virus *.

790 have so far died from or with the virus.

According to

nuernberg.de,

30 Covid-19 patients were

in intensive care units in Nuremberg hospitals on Wednesday - a decrease compared to the previous day for two patients.

96 infected people are in normal wards - one patient less than the day before.

By March 3, a total of 44,356 (+1 686) doses had been inoculated in the second largest city in Bavaria.

So far, 14,970 residents have received the first and second dose.

While the incidence value * continues to fall, a resident lawyer has sued the Ansbach Administrative Court against the general mask requirement in downtown Nuremberg.

He considers the arrangement to be disproportionate and too general - also because the retail trade is closed.

The court found the lawyer right in a first judgment *.

As

reported by

nordbayern.de

, the city could lodge a complaint with the administrative court.

The decision to lift the mask requirement in many places where distances can be maintained only applies to the plaintiff himself until further notice.

Update from March 3, 4:58 p.m.:

In a press

letter

, the chairman of the city seniors council, Christian Marguliés and the head of the coordination office of the vaccination center, Christine Schüßler, turned to the city's senior citizens.

The letter is mainly about the delays in vaccinating and registering for an appointment.

Lately there have been more frequent complaints that vaccination is going too slowly in the Franconian metropolis.

But you have to consider that around 150,000 people who are older than 60 live in Nuremberg alone.

A little more than 30,000 over 80-year-olds living at home must first be vaccinated.

With an average of 200 to 450 first vaccinations for seniors at home, this still takes a certain amount of time, says Schüßler.

Corona in Nuremberg: Vaccination hotline employees are increased

"From April the vaccination capacities will be doubled," reports Marguliés.

Around 1000 vaccinations are currently carried out in the vaccination center every day.

“In the meantime all nursing homes have been vaccinated once.

Now there are still vaccinations in the assisted living facilities and follow-up vaccinations in the nursing homes, ”explains Christine Schüßler.

The city also took to heart the criticism that attempts to register via the vaccination hotlines were often unable to get through.

The aim is to gradually increase the number of employees from 18 to 60.

At the moment the hotline is only slightly busy and calls can be accepted again.

However, Marguliés advises registering online, even if this is difficult for many seniors.

“Ask family members, neighbors, or trusted people for help.

Anyone can use their email address to register up to five people online. ”Otherwise, Schüßler and Marguliés can only advise you to be patient.

Everyone will be assigned their vaccination appointment sooner or later.

Corona in Nuremberg: curfew is lifted

Update from March 3, 1:10 p.m.:

The people of Nuremberg can breathe easy.

The curfew in the urban area, which applied daily from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., was lifted with immediate effect, the city said.

This means that citizens can be outside after 10 p.m. tonight.

And the development should also have a positive effect on the talks taking place on Thursday about the continuation of alternating classes at elementary and special schools.

At the beginning of March, the students had to stay at home because the incidence value briefly slipped above 100.

The situation is now being reassessed from week to week.

The 7-day incidence value that the RKI reported on Wednesday was even significantly below that of the previous days.

Nuremberg is thus 90.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days.

On Tuesday it was 97.4.

However, the number of those who died of or with Covid-19 increased by a further 13 to 786 in the past 24 hours.

Corona in Nuremberg: Hoping for the seventh day under 100

Update from March 2, 4:30 p.m.:

The 7-day incidence for Nuremberg * has fallen slightly and is currently 97.4 (

see update from March 2, 12:08 p.m.

).

This means that the factor has been below the critical value of 100 for six days. If the Franconian metropolis remains below this mark on Wednesday (March 3), the night curfew in the city will probably be lifted.

An incidence value of less than 100 is necessary so that the lock can be lifted between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for seven days at a time.

So currently the target has almost been reached.

The night curfew came into force on February 23 at 10 p.m.

“Nuremberg has exceeded the incidence value * of 100.

The city must therefore reintroduce a nightly curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in accordance with the requirements of the Free State, ”said a message on the city of Nuremberg's website at this time.

Corona in Nuremberg: Incidence just under 100 - unemployment figures rose slightly

Update from March 2, 12:08 p.m.:

Today, Tuesday, the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency published the new unemployment figures for Bavaria.

Accordingly, Corona has had a noticeably negative impact on employment in the Free State - but this is not as high as feared.

In February, 316,632 people were unemployed.

This means that the unemployment rate in Bavaria is 4.2.

In comparison, it was 3.2 in February 2020 - even before the pandemic.

Nevertheless, the Free State has the lowest unemployment rate in all of Germany (6.3).

"In view of the ongoing restrictions to contain the pandemic, the labor market in Bavaria is relatively robust," said the chairman of the regional directorate, Ralf Holtzwart.

“However, the trend in unemployment should not hide the fact that the situation is tense.

The state subsidies cushion the stronger effects. ”Many employees in Bavaria are on short-time work, but the number of reports on short-time work has recently fallen again.

The corona numbers in Nuremberg, however, hardly change.

The 7-day incidence has fallen slightly and, according to the RKI, is now 97.4 (previous day: 98.2).

773 people have died in connection with Covid-19.

45,531 people have already been vaccinated in Nuremberg and 13,893 people have received a second vaccination.

32 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in the intensive care units.

97 are on normal wards.

Nuremberg: 7-day incidence has been around 100 for days

(First report from March 1) Nuremberg - In the second largest city in Bavaria, the fear of the 7-day incidence continues.

After Nuremberg * exceeded the critical mark of 100 on Monday, February 22nd, stricter corona rules came into force.

Because: If the incidence is above this target mark, the affected city is excluded from numerous easing.

Nuremberg: There is a curfew in the Franconian metropolis

As the Bavarian Ministry of Health explains, there is a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for those districts and cities whose 7-day incidence * is over 100 - so also for Nuremberg since last Monday.

Each time the mark is exceeded, the curfew does not apply until the incidence is below 100 for at least seven days.

The last time above this was Nuremberg on Wednesday, February 24th.

Consequently, today, Monday, March 1st, is the fifth day in a row on which the value is below 100.

But there is still no reason to breathe a sigh of relief for the residents: According to the Robert Koch Institute * (RKI), the incidence recently rose again to 98.2.

If the value remains below 100 up to and including Wednesday, February 3, the nightly curfew could be canceled on the following day - if it increases before the 7-day period has expired, nothing will come of it.

Nuremberg: Schools mainly in distance teaching - daycare centers are closed

However, further openings are also attached to the target mark 100.

After the value was exceeded, daycare centers were only allowed to offer emergency care since Tuesday, February 23.

Since Monday, March 1st, thanks to an opening clause, everyone has again been allowed to visit the daycare centers.

All elementary and special school pupils as well as the final classes of all secondary and vocational schools have been allowed to return to face-to-face teaching since this deadline - but in the form of alternate classes, depending on the location.

Between Tuesday, February 23 and Friday, February 26, face-to-face classes for elementary and special school students as well as for the final classes of secondary and middle schools were prohibited.

According to

nordbayern.de,

only the Abitur classes Q12 as well as the 12th and 13th grades of the technical and vocational

schools were trained in the premises of the schools for four days

.

Face-to-face classes were also allowed to hold certain final classes of vocational schools, where the final exams are due before Easter.

Corona in Nuremberg: "Diffuse infection situation"

Britta Walthelm, health officer for the city of Nuremberg, told the

news site

nordbayern.de

that the development of the numbers for Nuremberg was "not foreseeable".

All indicators would have shown a good trend.

"The infection situation in Nuremberg is still very diffuse," said Wathelm.

She also justified this with the rapid increase in the significantly more contagious virus mutations *, which now make up 22 percent of new corona cases.
