The average salary per gross employee job at constant prices was NIS 10,952.

This is an increase of 7.6% compared to 2019. The number of employee jobs was 3.369 million - a decrease of 10% compared to 2019, when the hospitality and food services industry recorded the largest decrease with 40.9%.

In the arts, entertainment and leisure industry there was a decrease of 35.7%.

The average wage per employee job among all employees at current prices was NIS 11,193, while the number of employees was 358.3 thousand. 

In the field of employees from abroad: the number of employee jobs was 122.5 thousand. This is a decrease of 9% compared to 2019. The average salary per employee job at current prices among employees from abroad was NIS 6,649.

The Central Bureau of Statistics examined the percentage change in the average wage per employee post in each of the years 2020-2012 compared to the previous year.

The data show that in the years 2019-2012, the average wage per employee post increased between 1.7% and 3.6%.

Due to the impact of the corona on the labor market, in 2020 there was an increase of 7% compared to 2019. In contrast, in 2019 there was an increase of 3% and in 2018 of 3.6%.

Regarding employee jobs between the years 2020-2011, it appears that by 2019 the number has risen consistently.

Due to the impact of the corona plague on the labor market, in 2020 the number of employee jobs decreased by 10% compared to 2019.

The average wage is particularly low in the most affected industries

Another figure examined is the average wage per employee job at current prices among Israeli workers in 2020 by industry.

The data show that at the top of the table is the information and communications industry with an average salary of NIS 23,908, followed by financial services and insurance services with NIS 19,577 and in third place are electricity and water supply, sewage and wastewater treatment services with an average salary of NIS 19,538.

At the bottom of the list are naturally the areas that have been deeply affected by the corona crisis.

Employee jobs accounted for 9.5% of all employee jobs in the economy, while in 2019 employee jobs in the high-tech field accounted for 8.6%.

The largest share was in the field of programming and consulting in the field of computers and other services with 47.5%, ie 152.6 thousand jobs.

There was a decline in almost all industries

Another figure examined is the number of employee jobs among Israeli workers in 2020 by industry.

At the top of the table is the education sector with 517.5 thousand jobs, in the field of wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles there were 436.4 thousand jobs, and in the field of health, welfare and welfare services there were 435.8 thousand jobs.

At the bottom of the list are agriculture, forestry and fishing with 47.1 thousand jobs, followed by electricity and water supply, sewage and treatment and waste treatment services with 31.3 thousand and 26.7 thousand in real estate activities.

In terms of the percentage change of the number of employee jobs in 2020 compared to 2019 by industry, it can be seen that in almost all industries there was a decrease in the number of employee jobs.

The highest decreases were as stated in the hospitality and food services industry with a decrease of 40.9% and in the arts, entertainment and leisure industry with a decrease of 35.7%.

In the local and public administration industry and in the health services industry, there was no change at all in the number of employee jobs.
