But then Corona came.

Now the comrades have made up for the celebration for the long-time active social democrat.

Seefeld - Better late than not at all.

That was also the opinion of the SPD Seefeld, which thanked Ute Dorschner (74) on Thursday for her longstanding commitment to community politics.

Originally, after the local elections in March 2020, the comrades had planned a small party for the retired secondary school teacher.

But then Corona came.

In the summer, health problems ruined the celebration plans, then the second lockdown followed.

The Seefeld comrades were all the happier that at least one short ceremony was held in front of Dorschner's house in Seefeld in the bright sunshine.

The local SPD chairwoman Marion Koppelmann remembered Ute Dorschner's work in a laudation.

In 1990 she ran for the first time for the Social Democrats, albeit non-party.

Until 2020 she sat at the council table for the SPD.

The comrades never had a majority, but “they were always characterized by creative ideas, persistence in implementation and perseverance,” said Koppelmann.

Dorschner's signature bore a lot.

She launched the Pilsensee news, organized festivals such as the community's first welcome festival in 2015, had the idea for the citizens' bus, was a co-founder of the Aubachtal protection community, promoted the topic of local development, gave the first impetus for energy-saving street lighting and the implementation of Tempo 30, suggested flower strips, applied for alternative forms of living and campaigned for long leases instead of selling community land.

Asylum work has always been a major issue.

As a thank you, Dorschner accepted a garden fork, which also provides a table for the well-deserved after-work drink.

There was also a voucher for the weekly market and a book voucher.

The 74-year-old was very happy.

“It's nice that my work has been so valued,” she said.

Even if it annoyed her that she was not allowed to return the favor with an invitation because of the pandemic.
