At the end of next week, the sweeping use of GSS sites will cease, following a High Court ruling on the subject - and the organization concludes a year of activity in the war in Corona.

According to the GSS, more than 100,000 corona patients were located exclusively thanks to the placements.

According to models from the Ministry of Health, it is estimated that following the detection of the patients, more than 98,000 new patients, about 2,000 severe patients, and 750 deaths were avoided.

The data was presented to Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen, chairman of the Ministerial Committee on GSS Affairs.

The committee, which convened this week, extended the sweeping use of placements until Saturday, March 13th.

After that, the GSS will be a safety net for the Ministry of Health and the state in cases where a person who is infected does not cooperate in an epidemiological investigation. In the next two weeks, the committee will set criteria for using the tool. It is estimated that the locations will be activated in less than five contacts.
