So far this morning (4th) the reporter boarded the Hengfeng Building which was on fire and inspected it. There were two tenement buildings in total.

A fire broke out in a tenement building in Hung Hom last night (3rd). A 35-year-old Indian male climbed out of the canopy on the 8th floor and jumped to the platform of another building to escape.

This morning (4th) the reporter boarded the Hengfeng Building, which was on fire, and inspected it. There were two stairs in the Tang Building that caused the incident. The back stairs were filled with a lot of sundries, including large furniture and 3 washing machines.

Many objects were burned after the fire, and the back stairs were covered with ashes and smelled of burning.

It can be seen from the scene that the above site is "Three No Building" without CCTV, no security personnel, and the iron gate is not locked. The building can be freely entered and exited like the "Uncovered Chicken Cage".

Some residents have pointed out that there are long-term debris in the corridors and stairs of each floor, and the debris obstructs the escape route.

On the roof of the building, several units were chained, and a police notice was posted outside the door urging the head of the household to contact the police.

The police classified the case as arson, and no one has been arrested yet.

The incident occurred at about 11 pm yesterday (3rd). At the roof of the tenement building of Hang Fung Building, No. 7 Wah Fung Street, Hung Hom, a tin house was reported to have smoked and caught fire, and an explosion was heard.

During the period due to the approaching smoke and the violent fire, a South Asian man ventured to escape by jumping over the roof of another building adjacent to the canopy on the 8th floor. The two buildings were about 3 meters apart. Fortunately, there was a height In the end, the male victim successfully jumped to the rooftop of the opposite building without injury.

So far this morning (4th), the 35-year-old Indian man who jumped off the building to escape, told reporters about his escape.

He said that he immediately fled outside the door of the unit after finding a fire on the floor at the time. However, he was surrounded by the fire and heavy smoke and was unable to leave, and the heavy smoke continued to pour into the unit, so he opened the window grilles and climbed out of the canopy to take shelter.

Because the fire was too violent, he said that he could not stand the heat, so he had to venture out of the canopy and jump to the roof of the fence building to escape. Fortunately, he was not injured.
