In a harsh speech that included a strong political defense of Kirchnerism, Vice President Cristina Kirchner accused the Judiciary of being "a rotten and perverse system", she spoke again of "lawfare" to defend herself against the causes of corruption in which she is accused. and targeted Mauricio Macri and the media.

The former president declared this Thursday via virtual zoom from her office in the Senate in the framework of the case for the "future dollar", in which she is accused of "fraudulent administration."

The former president seeks to close the case, which is one of the eight files that she has raised to oral proceedings.

At the beginning of her presentation, and with her already well-known style, the former president spoke again about "lawfare" and harshly criticized the Justice, accusing it of

"interference and manipulation in electoral processes and in politics in general

" .

The Vice President affirmed that the first call for the hearing had been set for March 1, the day of the Legislative Assembly, which she, as head of the Senate, should lead.

"There I said 'obviously the lawfare is still in full swing'. Because if it was a mistake, it is even more serious. I would be extremely concerned if the court ignored articles of the Constitution that establish that every March 1, the President of the Republic it has the constitutional obligation to be accountable, and is obviously accompanied by the vice president, who is the one who presides over the Legislative Assembly, as established by the Constitution, "he said.

There, Cristina Kirchner affirmed that the future dollar cause is a "'leading case', not only in the matter of lawfare, but also in interference and manipulation of the Judicial Power in electoral processes and in politics in general in the Argentine Republic. "

But the attack on the Judiciary did not stop there: in various segments of her speech, Cristina Kirchner assured that the judges are the ones who defend the "economic power", and even linked it to the Armed Forces.

Cristina Kirchner in her office, before testifying.

"Power is permanent in Argentina, a permanent economic power, where the Armed Forces were first and now it is you (the judges) who look after their interests," he said.

After Cristina Kirchner, they testify before Chamber I of the Federal Criminal Cassation Chamber.

Then he will be followed by Governor Axel Kicillof, the president of the Central Bank, Miguel Pesce, and Alejandro Vanoli.

It is the second time that Cristina Kirchner exposes in a case in which she is prosecuted, but in different instances.

On December 2, 2019, prior to being sworn in as vice president, she had to testify before the Federal Oral Court 2 (TOF 2) in the trial where she is accused of having favored Lázaro Báez (recently convicted of money laundering), with contracts road public works.

It was there that he installed his theory of lawfare.

The case began in 2015 from a complaint filed in that year by deputy Mario Negri (UCR-Córdoba) and by then-senator Federico Pinedo (PRO).

Cristina Kirchner was accused of alleged "fraudulent administration" when giving instructions to the authorities of the Central Bank, "with the consent of the National Securities Commission", to sell in a short period "a significant volume of future dollar contracts at fictitious values , abusively forcing the entity generating a serious damage to the coffers of the State ".

Last year, the prosecutor Diego Velasco required the Federal Oral Court 1 to start the trial of the case for operations with the future dollar.

The file was raised more than four years ago and became the first case against Cristina Kirchner raised to oral proceedings.

The vice president and the rest of the defendants maintain that there is a "no reason to prosecute a clearly political decision."

However, the Court upheld the objections of the prosecutor Velasco, who rejected the requests for dismissal by stating that "there are no substantive arguments" and that "he does not mention what, in his opinion, the considerations of the technicians that support his liberatory position are ".
