The gross interference of the International Court of Justice against Israel, which is not a member of it, and against the Palestinians who are not a state, is an attempt to force by legal means a sham solution to a long-standing conflict with cultural, religious and historical sediments.

The cruel irony is that precisely now, when moderate Arab states have realized that they must not succumb to the Palestinian refusal to move forward with normalization of relations in the Middle East, that what is required are confidence-building measures, the tribunal arrives and rewards peace-seekers and war-mongers.

At this time, every justice-seeking country deserves to stand up to the right of Israel and condemn the decision, as we said in talks with Italian heads of state and key figures in the media and the public.

This is not what the founders of the International Court of Justice thought: the use of the institution of law as a tool to harm the Jewish state.

About three thousand years ago, a foreign prophet stood - today he might have been called an intellectual or a prosecutor - and as if he had blessed us, and with his blessing we understood his hatred towards us: "Both a people will dwell alone, and the Gentiles (= peoples) will not be counted (= will not be counted)".

Israel's exclusion from the family of nations, through international institutions (about 20 or more anti-Israel decisions, every year, are made in the various UN institutions), while applying double legal standards to us and the rest of the world, is a continuation of the old anti-Semitism that excluded the Jew from the rest of society.
