Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, the silent adventurer

NEW - The German manufacturer is going on an adventure with this elevated version of its electric sedan.

The warm welcome reserved for the Mission E Cross Turismo concept unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and the positive feedback from marketing studies pushed Porsche to create the segment of electric allroad sedans.

Based on the Taycan sedan which has already won over more than 20,000 motorists around the world, the manufacturer from Zuffenhausen will offer, from next summer, with the Cross Turismo a vehicle capable of extending the trip where the asphalt turns into a muddy or bumpy road where a classic sedan cannot venture.

With the optional Offroad Design pack, the ground clearance increases by 30 mm compared to the Taycan (+ 20 mm without the pack).

This will make the difference because with this variation, the vehicle adopts the paraphernalia of the perfect adventurer based on front and rear shoes, protections attached to the wheel arches and sills but also special deflectors at the corners of the shields and at the ends of the door sills.

This pack is completed with an all-terrain “gravel” mode which adapts the chassis and the electronic systems to an evolution in rough terrain.

The four-wheel drive chassis has adaptive air suspension as standard.

Inside, a compass completes the equipment reserved for the Offroad pack.

Borrowing its spirit from the Panamera Gran Turismo, the Taycan Cross Turismo presents itself as a raised hunting station wagon offering a versatility of use superior to the Taycan.

Its specific roof line thus allows rear passengers to benefit from 47 mm of additional headroom and the cargo volume can reach up to 1,200 liters.

Modeled after the Taycan, the Cross Turismo family consists of four models with the standard 93.4 kWh battery and two-speed automatic transmission.

Entry-level model, the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo has a power of 380 hp (476 hp with overboost) and the longest range, 456 km.

The 4S version announces 490 hp and a range of 452 km;

the Turbo and the Turbo S produce 625 hp;

761 hp with overboost in the second case.

The marketing of the Taycan Cross Turismo will begin at the end of the first half of 2021, at a price of 96,454 euros (Taycan 4).
