European diplomats revealed that a draft resolution criticizing Iran had been abandoned before the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The French Press Agency quoted these diplomats as saying that the text of the bill would not be put to a vote.
The draft text behind Germany, France and Britain, backed by the United States, "condemned" Iran's decision to reduce inspections related to its nuclear program, which came in response to the United States' unilateral withdrawal in 2018 from the nuclear agreement and the failure of European signatories to the agreement to fulfill their obligations and commitments.
Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, warned yesterday that the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency would adopt resolutions that could undermine Iran's return to its obligations under the nuclear agreement.
Last Monday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the threatening language with Iran is useless, and that the policy of maximum pressure has failed, indicating that it rejected a proposal made by the Europeans on holding an informal meeting on the nuclear agreement due to the recent positions and actions of America and the European Troika.
