Miesbach - Many a walker may think of tree violence when he walks below the Wallenburger Berg in Miesbach and sees several freshly felled trees.

Nine trees were felled there recently - an overdue action, as Sebastian Schmitzberger, operations manager of the Wallenburg organic estate, explains: “Seven ash trees and two maples are affected.

They were felled for security reasons.

“The ash trees are trees that have been affected by ash dieback.

“You were just sick,” says Schmitzberger.

And the two maple trees would have had rotten crowns.

All in all, this represented a safety risk for the strollers walking underneath.

For this reason, the Wallenburg estate as the owner was officially requested to take action.

The felling work was carried out in consultation with the city of Miesbach and the Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the district office.

An examination for traces of the Asian longhorn beetle is also planned.
