Tony Yoka won by TKO in the 12th and final round this Friday evening against Belgian Joel Tambwe Djeko.
A deserved victory which allows the French boxer to win at the H Arena in Nantes the first professional title of his career since he won the European Union belt.
At 28, he became the number 1 challenger to Joe Joyce, European heavyweight champion, whom the Frenchman beat in the final of the Rio Olympics in 2016. Tony Yoka remains undefeated after ten fights among the professionals.
For a long time it was believed that victory would be played on points and that Yoka would win the belt anyway, but the Frenchman showed great determination to beat the 31-year-old Belgian.
Badly beaten, he preferred to refuse to fight rather than to be sent to the mat.
