A new star sparkles above the Tegernsee: Alois Neuschmid from the Haubentaucher restaurant in Rottach-Egern has been awarded by the Michelin Guide.

He is in good company at Tegernsee.

Rottach-Egern

- A former fishing hut in Rottach-Egern is the new address for gourmets.

The Michelin Guide awarded its stars on Friday (March 5th) and awarded Alois Neuschmid a star for his restaurant “Haubentaucher”.

Lois, as everyone at Tegernsee calls him, accepts the award with serenity.

“That doesn't change anything,” he says shortly after the announcement on the phone.

It is important to him that his guests feel comfortable.

Years ago, Alois Neuschmid already had a Michelin star with his former restaurant “Lois” - also in Rottach-Egern.

The "Haubentaucher" scores points not only because of its extraordinary location.

It is right on the lake, you can't sit closer to the water.

The dining room is simple and rustic.

At lunchtime there are changing dishes of the day, in the evening the guest can choose a multi-course surprise menu (70 euros) with accompanying wine.

Crossing chef Christian Jürgen defends his three stars again

One of “his biggest fans”, as Christian Jürgens (Überfahrt) calls himself, raves about the skills of the newcomer: “Lois can do everything, regardless of whether he cooks sensationally Bavarian or plays with exotic flavors.” Neuschmid's cuisine is “simply good”.

In addition, the “Haubentaucher” has the “best cheesecake in the whole of Tegernsee”.

From the bottom of my heart, Jürgens says: “I really appreciate the award for Lois.” Jürgens himself has once again defended his three stars in the “Überfahrt” and is thus still the measure of all things in the cookery scene.

Alois Neuschmid is backed by a small team - “in the evening we cook just for two”.

The Michelin star is "a great confirmation" for his team.

Neuschmid deliberately refrains from fuss.

"Less is more" is the motto of the chef and owner.

Thomas Kellermann (Dichterstub'n) also received an award again

In addition to Neuschmid and Jürgens, there is another excellent top chef at Tegernsee: Thomas Kellermann from the Dichterstub'n was once again awarded a star by the gourmet guide.
