The attack on MK Mansour Abbas, precisely in a demonstration that came to shout the residents of Umm al-Fahm against the proud violence in the city, is a very serious event by all accounts, but is a direct result of what has been happening in recent weeks in Arab society. And mutual incitement between the two Arab lists, the common and thunder, and whoever is surprised by the incident should go back a few weeks and see the publications and hear the interviews of the political leaders.

It is very difficult not to connect the attack, which was looted and humiliated by MK Mokhen, one of the leaders of the Arab public, and one of the representatives of one of the dominant political movements in Arab society, and the recent election campaign, which culminated in disinformation to serve propaganda of the two vocal lists. The campaign caused many uproar on social media, following the election of MK Abbas in a different and separate way, and his statements that he is willing to work with the Likud and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Although MK Abbas himself stated that those who did so were weeds, deliberately silenced, and does not represent the residents of Umm al-Fahm, it is now clear that his continued entry or presence at events in Arab society will be under the supervision of local people and perhaps under security, It is not far off the day that one of the enthusiastic young men will come and harm Abbas.

It is very strange that in an event in which the municipality and all the local leadership in the city drank, and matched with the police down to the last detail, did not take into account the participation of all Arab public leaders, and failed to prevent such a serious and shameful incident.

This is not the first demonstration and probably not the last against violence.

Just last week and during a demonstration that has been going on for several weeks, there was a strong protest against the violence perpetrated by the police against the Arab citizens of Umm al-Fahm, and especially against the two prominent local leaders from the city, Mayor Samir Mahamid and MK Yussef Gavarin, who were harmed by police. They were taken to the hospital for medical treatment and immediately afterwards complaints were filed against the police.

Right now, two weeks before the election, and despite the serious incident, MK Abbas and his party will do the right thing if they identify with some of the Arab public, and thus succeed in passing the blocking percentage, especially when it has been rocking for several weeks.
