The Colombian Prosecutor's Office reported this Friday that it requested a preclusion hearing in the ongoing investigation against the president and former senator Álvaro Uribe Vélez.
«After the comprehensive assessment of the material probative elements, the physical evidence and the information legally obtained during the course of the process, the prosecutor in the case established that several of the conducts for which the former congressman was legally linked do not have the character of a crime , and others that are, cannot be attributed as the author or as a participant, "the Prosecutor's Office explained in a statement.

Former President Álvaro Uribe is being investigated on suspicion of bribery and procedural fraud, in a case of alleged manipulation of witnesses.
Uribe has always rejected the accusations.
The Investigation Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Colombia decided to impose house arrest against Uribe in August and a judge of guarantees from Bogotá granted him freedom in October.
