There aren't going to be many choices left for shopping this weekend.
In the Yvelines, 20 shopping centers of more than 10,000 square meters would now be required to close, as part of the new health restrictions announced Thursday evening by Matignon.
So far, only centers of more than 20,000 square meters had been closed for a month in the department, or a dozen sites, such as Vélizy 2 or the Carrefour de Montesson.
“This list can still evolve, we assure the Yvelines prefecture, which will update it on its website.
Because there can be differences between the declared surfaces and the real surfaces.
”Note that this rule does not apply to food or pharmacies: supermarkets and hypermarkets therefore remain open.
Porte de Normandie is closing, not Mon Beau Buchelay
Among the new cities, we find in particular La maison Villacoublay and L'Usine mode et maisons, which are located not far from Vélizy 2, which was already closed.
The Chambourcy sector is also newly affected, with the Carrefour shopping arcade and Les Vergers de la Plaine.
In the Mantes-la-Jolie sector, in Buchelay more precisely, it is the Porte de Normandie shopping center that must close to the public, while a stone's throw away, Mon Beau Buchelay can remain open.
The latter, whose stores are outside, could do well, as shown by the unexpected success of the One Nation Paris outlet, in Clayes-sous-Bois.
With its unclosed roof and its large drugstore of 20,000 square meters, it has also experienced strong growth in 2020 (+ 16% in attendance).
