Essonne: 5,000 more vaccine doses and two centers opened in Palaiseau and Fleury-Mérogis

2021-03-05T17:10:57.946Z

To administer the vaccine doses from this weekend to those 75 and over, the prefecture is opening two vaccination centers on Saturday and Sunday

The first slots are available from this Friday at 4.30 p.m. on the Doctolib site.

This Saturday and Sunday, two “ephemeral” vaccination centers will open in Palaiseau and Fleury-Mérogis.

The prefecture has chosen these two towns to strengthen the twenty or so existing centers in the department in order to administer from this weekend the 5,000 additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine allocated to Essonne, including 1,500 in Palaiseau and 1,000 in Fleury.

“This vaccination effort remains targeted at the public already targeted by the vaccination campaign, specifies the prefecture: people over 75 years old and people over 50 years with co-morbidities.

Appointments to access vaccination centers, whether temporary or already existing, will be open exclusively via the Doctolib online platform, starting this Friday.

"

These two ephemeral centers of Fleury-Mérogis and Palaiseau will therefore be open on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This provision stems directly from Jean Castex's announcements on Thursday evening.

The Prime Minister has promised an acceleration of vaccination, with 40,000 additional doses for the Ile-de-France departments placed under surveillance.

" Everything is ready "

“We received a call from the state services Thursday evening, testifies Grégoire de Lasteyrie, mayor (LR) of Palaiseau.

The services of the city and the prefecture installed everything in the process, and everything is ready since Friday morning.

We will have around fifteen operational vaccination lines this weekend at the Jacques-Allain sports complex.

"

Same commotion in Fleury-Mérogis.

"The ephemeral vaccination center is installed in the premises of the departmental fire and rescue school of the Essonne firefighters," says Olivier Corzani, mayor (PCF) of Fleury.

Our agents and firefighters are mobilizing to have everything ready on Saturday morning.

In Fleury, we have been asking for a vaccination center from the start, we have the premises and the means.

We therefore hope that this center is a first step towards a more sustainable center.

"

In addition to these 5,000 doses which must be administered this weekend, a "strengthening of the vaccination effort will continue throughout the coming weeks," continues the prefecture of Essonne.

Thus, the number of available doses will be 4 times higher in April than in February.

François Durovray, the president (LR) of the departmental council, welcomes this reinforcement and is delighted that the government has not decreed containment for Ile-de-France.

“These 5,000 doses are important but it should not be a punch operation, he believes.

This effort must be sustained over time.

As of March 3, 68,954 doses have been injected in Essonne, including 42,000 administered to people aged 75 and over.

We are going to enter a new phase.
