New York-SANA, Palestine's permanent representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, renewed his call on the international community to take action a thousand times

New York-Sana

The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, renewed his demand for the international community to take immediate action to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinians, especially children, and to provide them with protection based on international legitimacy resolutions.

In letters addressed today to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mansour explained that the occupation continues its crimes against the Palestinians and violates the rights of children in a serious and systematic manner, stressing the need for the international community to intervene urgently to stop these crimes and hold those responsible accountable.

Mansour indicated that the occupation escalated its aggressive practices in the Palestinian territories in the first seven weeks of 2021 by demolishing Palestinian homes and properties, as well as seizing their lands and displacing hundreds of them, including 200 children.

Mansour pointed out that the occupation continues to suppress anti-settlement demonstrations and launch daily arrest campaigns for Palestinians, including children. During the past week, the occupation forces attacked participants in several demonstrations across occupied Palestine, wounding dozens, including a 10-year-old child.

Mansour indicated that the failure of the international community to take credible measures to hold the occupation accountable encouraged the occupation entity to persist in its violations and crimes.
