Irschenberg - The business meeting that the Dinzler coffee roasting company held on Saturday in its premises in Irschenberg is now in focus because of several violations of the mask requirement.
One of those who attended the meeting is Irschenberg's mayor, Klaus Meixner (CSU).
We asked him how he judged the case of the business meeting at the Dinzler coffee roastery in Irschenberg.
Mr. Meixner, the meeting in the coffee roastery caused some resentment because not all participants wore masks during the meeting. How do you judge that?
It is true that not all participants wore masks.
I also took it off at the seat because I assumed it was okay.
What I do not understand is that none of the police officers who were present during the entire event gave us a hint.
Then everyone would have put the mask back on.
That happened about half an hour after the start of the event - but at the request of the organizers.
Do you understand that the district office is taking action?
To be honest, not quite.
It's a violation, of course, but a simple hint wouldn't have caused the problem.
The mask is not compulsory in meetings because the safety distance of at least 1.50 meters is maintained.
It's also about being able to speak your mind.
Now, with this subsequent processing and persecution, the impression arises that the content is also at stake - that criticism has been expressed.
In what way?
For example, after the event I also asked police officers whether everything was okay from their point of view - and they said it was okay.
I think you also have to have the opportunity to exchange ideas critically.
Why were you there?
I was invited as the mayor and former carpentry owner, and from this position I also admit that I can no longer understand a lot.
For example, why gastronomy and retail are not allowed to open - despite good hygiene concepts.
We are only confronted with horror scenarios.
There is no question that you have to react to the pandemic, but please with moderation and aim.
Ultimately, it's about proportionality.
This surveillance of the people, the delaying tactics by politics, which extend the lockdown bit by bit: That puts a strain on the people and it ruins our economy.
Where's this going to end?
Many people are worried, and you have to be able to say this opinion - despite Corona.
