In the Alpen-Plus ski areas, uncertainty has grown further after the easing that has now been decided.

- The ski areas of the Alpen-Plus-Verbund have been guessworks since Thursday (March 4th).

The question of whether skiing will still be possible this winter is not an issue in the government's latest resolution paper.

The cable cars and lifts are also not mentioned explicitly in the opening steps.

There is only talk of outdoor catering and non-contact outdoor sports.

“At the moment we simply don't know where we are classified,” said Alpen-Plus spokeswoman Antonia Asenstorfer when asked.

Therefore, at this point in time, no statement could be made about a possible start of operations.

"No planning is possible."

But there is an assessment of this winter.

The hope that skiers and snowboarders will still be able to take a seat in the lifts this year and indulge in their passion on groomed slopes is increasingly disappearing.

“It's almost zero,” admits the press spokeswoman.

The final decision to go skiing will be made next week

Internally, the Alpen-Plus partners, which include the ski areas Spitzingsee-Tegernsee, Sudelfeld, Brauneck-Wegscheid in the neighboring district of Tölz and the Wallbergbahn, agreed on a latest opening date on March 15.

“That would have paid off then.” But now that there is no real perspective, this deadline should also be invalid.

Next week, Asenstorfer announced, a final decision on ski operation will be made after consultation with the responsible authorities and associations.

The announced repayment promise for season ticket holders will of course be kept, she adds.

Mountain railways hope to be able to open to hikers at least at Easter

While the railway operators are currently putting a mental hook behind the ski season, they are already looking towards Easter: According to Asenstorfer, the Alpen-Plus partners hope that they will then at least be able to open part of their lifts for hikers and walkers, such as the Wallbergbahn in Rottach-Egern, the Taubenstein cable car or the Brauneck cable car.

Of course, this does not make up for the losses, says the spokeswoman.

It would always be a glimmer of hope.
