It was exactly one year ago that the corona events in the Dachau district took their course.
The local newspaper has summarized the pandemic in a chronicle.
Thursday March 5th
In the end, it was only a matter of time after a number of corona cases had already been reported in the neighboring districts - especially Freising.
On Thursday, March 5th, a student from FOS Karlsfeld will test positive.
The school will then be completely closed on Friday, March 6th.
Sunday March 8th
For the first time, the district's coordination group meets in public.
Represented in it: doctors, pharmacists, representatives of the authorities, the fire brigade and rescue services as well as politics.
There are now three more infected people in the district: two classmates of the Karlsfeld student and a child who was skiing with his parents in South Tyrol.
Wednesday March 11th
Now there are eight infected people and a series of rejections.
The most prominent: the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp on April 29 with numerous contemporary witnesses.
Before the upcoming local elections on March 15, the municipalities are calling for the option of postal voting to be used.
Monday March 16
The winners of the local elections - above all Mayor Florian Hartmann and District Administrator Stefan Löwl - hardly have time to celebrate their successes: There are another five new cases, the authorities are restricting their customer traffic, and some sports teams are completely quarantined.
Tuesday 17th March
In the district, the disaster applies, which means art, sports and leisure facilities are closed from today.
Restaurants and canteens are only allowed to be open between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Wednesday March 18th
The central corona test station goes into operation on the Volksfestplatz in Indersdorf.
You don't have to leave the car for the smear.

Thursday March 19th
The Dachauer Tafel ceases operations.
The reason: hamster buyers who clear the supermarket shelves so that the supermarket operators can no longer hand in anything.
Monday March 23rd
There has been an exit restriction in Bavaria since the weekend.
There are now 105 corona cases in the Dachau district, including a nurse from the Friedrich-Meinzolt-Haus retirement home in Dachau.
Tuesday March 24th
The local newspaper publishes a corona table for the first time in its local section.
Thursday March 26th
The health department reports the first corona death: "a 90-year-old with previous illnesses".
There are now 174 cases in the county.
Tuesday March 31st
The month ends with the second corona death - a 90-year-old man - and 301 infected people.
Thursday April 2nd
The number of infections is skyrocketing: there are now 378 cases.
In order to prevent the Dachau Clinic from being overloaded, the Pandemic Coordination Group is calling for an auxiliary hospital to be set up in the Select Hotel in Dachau-Ost.

Friday April 3rd
The Dachau Helios Amper Clinic has been quarantined.
Eleven employees and one patient were infected after a patient from the Starnberg district carried the virus to the hospital unnoticed.
Easter, 11./12/13. April
With 667 corona cases, the district is going into the Easter weekend.
The big church services are canceled, the residents in the clinic and the nursing homes are not allowed to receive visitors.
The Awo therefore offers a "chatterbox" - a telephone counseling against loneliness.
Tuesday April 14th
The auxiliary hospital in Dachau-Ost is operational.
In just seven days, the fire brigade and THW transformed the Select Hotel into a clinic.
The number of infected people has now broken the 700 mark.
Monday April 20th
From now on there is a mask requirement in Bavaria.
That means that every citizen should wear a face mask that can be sewn by himself - the birth of the community masks.

Wednesday April 23
The district now has 805 corona cases.
And slowly the first economic consequences are becoming noticeable: Dachau's city treasury is sounding the alarm in the face of falling business taxes.
Thursday April 30th
The month closes with 858 corona cases.
22 people have now died from or in connection with the virus.
Prime Minister Markus Söder was in Dachau on April 29, despite the cancellation of the great commemoration, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp.
Monday 4th May
After six weeks, the hairdressers are allowed to reopen this Monday.
On the other hand, the April report by the employment agency is less positive: In the Dachau district, more people are unemployed than they have been in ten years.

902 corona cases are now in the district statistics, there are 26 deaths related to the virus to mourn.
The Dachau city council is now discussing the question of whether there should be a drive-in Oktoberfest as a replacement for the canceled folk festival.

The beer gardens are allowed to reopen, but the showmen - like the Röhrmoos Senefelder family - feel forgotten by politics.

Dachau is celebrating the first car concert in its history on the Thomawiese.

Tuesday May 26th
The auxiliary hospital in the Select Hotel in Newtonstrasse in Dachau is history, the facility with its 99 beds is being dismantled.
Not a single patient had to be treated there in the five weeks of its existence.
The number of new corona infections continues to fall: For the first time there are days without a single message.

The citizen phone, which the district office had switched since mid-March for all questions about the corona pandemic, will be switched off.
From now on, citizens should again only find out about the status quo online via the district office page.
There are now 939 corona cases in the district.
Saturday July 11th
In an interview with the local newspaper, senior clinician Alexander von Freyburg takes stock.
So far, they have come through the crisis well, but “with the end of the holiday season comes the moment of truth”.

Rarely is more than one new corona case counted every day.
At the end of July, the statistics show 970 cases, the number of so-called corona deaths has remained unchanged since June: 29.

The laboratory that is supposed to evaluate the tests is also overwhelmed: It takes a week for those tested to receive their results.

First day of school.
For the pupils there is a mask requirement and a step-by-step plan: normal regular lessons are possible up to a seven-day incidence of 50;
from then on, the classes have to be divided again and alternating lessons have to be introduced.
Saturday 19th September
As of today, amateur sports - i.e. competitions for all contact sports - are allowed again in Bavaria.
The seven-day incidence fluctuates: in the meantime, below 15, it is now 26. The total number of infected people is 1201.
Monday 5th October
October starts quietly.
The incidence drops to 8.45.
However, almost 300 district citizens are in quarantine, the total number of infections is 1262.

The corona cases are increasing again.

The tracking of the infection chains is becoming more difficult again, as the district office reports.
Tuesday October 13th
The increase in infections now has consequences: With an incidence value of just under 35 (34.4), only 25 people are allowed at celebrations, from the fifth grade onwards, masking is required again in class.
Thursday October 15th
The seven-day incidence has hit the 50 mark.
However, not a single Covid patient is currently being treated in the hospital.
Saturday 17th October
The incidence is 64.33.
The district is now considered "red" on the Corona traffic light.
District Administrator Stefan Löwl calls for a "private lockdown".
Because more people want to be vaccinated against flu than ever before, the flu vaccine is becoming scarce in the district.
Thursday October 22nd
The seven-day incidence is 75, there are now 1,473 reported cases.
The situation is also changing in the clinic: five Covid patients are currently being treated there.
Meanwhile, a parenting movement is mobilizing against the mask requirement.
Saturday October 31st
Because of the partial lockdown that has been decided, sports clubs, restaurateurs and cinema operators are angry.
The seven-day incidence is now 102.65.
The Dachau Clinic is still running normally, as Managing Director Florian Aschbrenner explains.
Monday November 2nd
119 new cases in one weekend.
According to the district office, this is the highest increase ever recorded in the district to date.
The seven-day incidence climbs to over 120. Because a mask is now required on public traffic areas, the police carry out checks.
Tuesday 3rd November
53 new cases.
The incidence is over 150. Because several teachers at the monastery kindergarten have caught a cold, the corona care concept no longer works.
Result: The facility will be closed until the end of the week.
Monday 9th November
The incidence rises from 213.7 on Friday, November 7th to 246.6 over the weekend.
The reason for this is also the outbreak in the Curanum retirement home in Karlsfeld: 48 residents and 30 employees are infected there.
Monday November 30th
The numbers fell recently, the month now closes with an incidence of 204. If the value falls below the 200 mark, the district is officially no longer a “hotspot”.
Tuesday December 8th
The seven-day incidence in the district is constantly around the 200 mark.
Meanwhile, the Free State is calling for a disaster - and tightening the contact restrictions.
CSU politicians in the district consider the measures to be partly excessive, partly necessary, partly insufficient.
Tuesday December 15th
The curfew now also applies in the district, the seven-day incidence has risen to 223.4.
The Dachau Clinic considers the occupancy situation with Covid patients to be "manageable".
The two vaccination centers in Dachau and Karlsfeld are now ready for use.

Christmas December 24th
All hell broke loose at the Indersdorf test center in the days before Christmas, 600 people on Tuesday and Wednesday alone.
However, the seven-day incidence has fallen significantly again, to 160.1.
The statistics show 4442 cases and 86 deaths.
Sunday December 27th
"The turn in the pandemic" should bring it, the new corona vaccination.
The 92-year-old Horst Oschmann from Dachau and 20 other citizens are the first to receive the coveted prick.
From January 2nd, District Administrator Löwl promises, all other citizens who belong to the top vaccination priority group will be able to register for an appointment at the vaccination centers.

The year starts with a corona outbreak in the Indersdorfer hospital, which specializes in geriatric medicine.

The citizens are angry, desperate, horrified: Because there is no vaccine, the announced appointments cannot take place.
