Peiting - It is the horror concept for every dog owner: Brigitte Lindemann from Peiting recently feared for the life of the Pincher bitch “Fly” for days.
In the veterinary clinic, where the animal is being successfully treated, there is a bad suspicion: Was it a poison bait to blame?
Brigitte Lindemann will not forget last Friday anytime soon.
The day before, her daughter Tamara’s Pincher was not doing well.
“She had diarrhea,” reports the woman from Peitinger.
Lindemann tried to calm the bitch's digestive tract with light food.
“It got better then.” But on Friday morning the animal's condition deteriorated dramatically.
The feces were full of clotted blood.
The woman from Peitinger immediately brought the dog to the animal clinic in Garmisch, where the doctors fought for the life of “Fly” with infusions and medication.
The treatment works, meanwhile the bitch is over the mountain - much to the relief of Brigitte Lindemann.
Veterinary clinic has bad suspicions
But what led to the dog's sudden illness?
One has bad suspicions in the veterinary clinic.
"Everything points to rat poison," says the woman from Peitinger.
When "Fly" recorded it is difficult to narrow down.
Because the poison does not work immediately, but with a delay, "it may have happened at any point in the last three weeks," says Lindemann.
And the question of the location is not easy to answer either.
After all, the woman from Peitinger, who lives in Klausenweg, is often out and about with her daughter's dog and her own four-legged friend on various routes throughout the market town.
"It could have happened at the ice rink, at the pool, on the well-known dog mile or at the Ost- or Nordbahnhof."
Warning has already been shared 70 times on Facebook
Even if it suggests that it was poison bait, Lindemann cannot prove it.
The only thing left to do is to appeal to the Peitinger dog owners to be vigilant when walking their four-legged friends.
Lindemann's warning has already been shared over 70 times on Facebook - combined with numerous recovery wishes for “Fly”.
"Maybe someone else is already affected or someone has observed something unusual," she hopes that the possible culprit will soon be tracked down.
The Peitinger can only speculate about his motives.
You can understand if someone is annoyed about the improperly disposed of leftovers.
"But why do you punish the dogs, the owners are punished."
