Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was transferred to the private King Edward VII Hospital on Friday morning after a "successful" heart procedure on Thursday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement. | World | CNN

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was transferred to the private King Edward VII Hospital on Friday morning after a "successful" heart procedure on Thursday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.


"Following the Duke of Edinburgh's successful procedure at St Bartholomew Hospital on Wednesday, His Royal Highness has been transferred to King Edward VII Hospital this morning," the statement read.

"The Duke is expected to remain in hospital to continue treatment for several days," adds the Palace.

This is the second time the Duke, Queen Elizabeth's husband, has moved from the hospital, since his first admission to the King Edward VII Private Hospital on Wednesday, February 17.

Who is Prince Philip?

He married Queen Elizabeth II in 1947. Together they have 4 children: Edward, Earl of Wessex (March 10, 1964);
